Europe Direct
Europe Direct is an information network across Europe, designed to answer citizens' needs concerning the European Union (EU). It is a project supported by the European Commission to enable people like you to obtain information, advice, assistance and answers to questions about the EU. Moreover, the network actively promotes local debates en events about the EU, its values and policies. It second aim is to help European institutions to improve the dissemination of information and to send feedback from citizen’s to the EU institutions.
There are approximately 500 Europe Direct information centres in the European Union, 12 of them in the Netherlands. One of them is located in and run by Centre Céramique.
What is Europe Direct Maastricht?
We interface between the European Union and its citizens. Our task is to answer your questions ourselves or via referral in our network. The aim is to make the European Union and its institutions transparent and to show its influence in your everyday life. Therefore we (co)organise events, workshops and debates with European themes.

We will gladly answer any inquiries or questions relating the European Union. Please contact us via europedirect@maastricht.nl or visit our information point on the second floor in Centre Céramique. We offer books, reports, magazines and periodicals published throughout the European Union. They are available for consultation. Moreover, there is a large number of brochures on various European subjects available for free.
A lot of information on Europe can be found on the online as well,. Especially the website Europa.eu can provide useful information.
