Where can I find the catalogue?
You can consult the catalogue by clicking on the Library button on the homepage.

How do I borrow a recently released book?
Use the Sprinter Service to borrow recently released books. You can recognize a Sprinter by the Sprinter symbol on the spine of the book. They are placed in separate shelves in the library. Our staff members can show you where to find them.

What is a Sprinter?
Sprinters are recently released, popular books in our collection. By purchasing them from local bookstores, we can offer them to you immediately after they are released. Our motto is: ‘released yesterday, on shelves today!’ You can borrow Sprinters under the following conditions:
The loan period is 1 week at € 2 per item, regardless of membership type.
Once the loan period expires, you will be charged € 0.50 each day the item is overdue. Sprinters cannot be reserved or renewed. -
Why do I have to pay €2.00 for a Sprinter?
The Sprinter Service is an extra service. Local bookstores send us new, popular books as soon as they are released and we make sure they are on our shelves the very next day. That means these books are not yet available in our regular collection. Customer surveys have shown that some library members are willing to pay for instant access to the very latest books. Given an insufficient budget for the regular collection, and because we wanted to offer you this special service, we decided to introduce a loan surcharge instead.

I found a Sprinter in the regular collection. Is that possible?
It is possible to find a Sprinter book in the regular collection. These are often Top 10 books. A Sprinter will stay in the collection for roughly one quarter of a year. At the end of that quarter, the book may be incorporated into the regular collection. Oftentimes, this book will have been reserved by multiple people, which means you may have to wait a while to borrow it. You can always choose to pay for the Sprinter instead, which will be immediately available for loan.
